Achromatic Innocence - Moodboard Monday

image links: clockwise 1, 2, 3, 4.

Welcome Monday. Today I feel the simplicity of black and white and grey, the honesty of light and shadows. I admire the guiltlessness of lines, the modesty of a minimal life and the effects of an honest smile. I appreciate the nostalgic preservation of special moments as much as the importance of gazing naively and optimistically into the unknown. All this sets the mood for a certain achromatic innocence.

How do you feel today?

Good Morning - Moodboard Monday

images via: clockwise, 1, 2, 3, 4.

I know it's Tuesday already, but I did prepare this mood board early yesterday morning when the sun was shining and the birds were chirping. Hints of yellow, lots of white, some wood and brick and let's not forget hot coffee - makes for a perfect morning mood.

I didn't have time to post it yesterday because we had to drive to Rostock - in the north of Germany near the Baltic Sea. My husband (P) is doing the last flying phase of his pilot training there and I decided to tag along. We drove about 6 hours to what feels like the middle of nowhere. There's a small airport nearby, where P will be spending most of his days. We're renting a little farmhouse with a green front door and nothing but fields all around. This 'city mouse' is truly out of her element here, but somehow I like it. It's quiet and the air is fresh and brisk. It's a nice change. I'm only staying a couple weeks though. Then I'm off to Berlin for another short while. P will join me there when he's done. Until then, here are what my surroundings look like:

Although I'm a little out of my comfort zone here, I'm feeling pretty relaxed. I just wish the sun we left behind in Frankfurt catches up with us here soon.

What are you up to this week? How's your mood these days?

Contemplation - Moodboard Monday

Lately I feel like I need to slow down and contemplate. So when I stumbled across the top image, I felt very drawn to it, as it seemed to describe my mood. I find the lady standing there in her peachy, orange dress among all the grey, sort of hopeful and still. And that's how I feel, quietly and peacefully hopeful. Just thinking about things. With vastness all around.

So naturally, the next step was to go with this mood and translate it to an interior space. You like?

How is your mood these days?

Moodboard Monday - Bathroom

Happy Monday to all.

Today I am in the mood for some peace of mind. Where better to find that that the bathroom? Isn't it true that in life or even in movies, people often hide in the bathroom in search of quiet or escape from chaos?

Heehee :)

Modern / Retro Living Room - Moodboard Mondays

(c) HvH Interiors

Well, it's not Monday but I would still like to share my modern/retro living room mood board with you.  It's something I put together for someone who needed a Level 1 service from me and I quite like it - so here I am posting about it.

The mood is relaxed, but alive.  The colours are soft, minus the punch of orange (which excites me very much!).  I was inspired by angular shapes for this room, many of which are rounded so that the room feels less harsh, yet somehow still streamlined.

What do you think?

Wild and Crazy - Moodboard Mondays

This moodboard is called Wild and Crazy - extreme, uninhibited, dramatic, impulsive and instinctual.  I am feeling Wild and Crazy with happiness today because of some extremely good news.  My husband is studying to be a pilot.  After a 3 day long examination and almost 5 excruciating days of waiting, we just found out he passed the theory part of his licensing exam!!  Pretty big deal, his extra stripe is now on the way.  Needless to say, we are ecstatic.

Hope you are having a wonderful day too,
