Monday has arrived. How was your weekend? Mine was pretty relaxed, nice pace - spent time with friends in the city, a leisurely brunch on Sunday, and finished up some work on my latest interior design project. I thought I'd share it with you since it‘s a mood board concept, perfect for a Moodboard Monday.
Here‘s a bit of info on the project brief. The client is moving into a new apartment and needed help with the living room. It is a small room, with dark wood floors, regular height ceilings and a good amount of natural light. The walls are white and ready to be painted (she wanted a light color, but not pure white). She already had 2 armchairs, a light wood shelving unit and a painting that she wanted to use in the space. Her keywords were modern, cozy, clean, not girly - rich but breezy. She likes green and blue but wanted a mainly neutral base for the color scheme. She lives in the USA and her budget for furnishings and painting was $1,200. We came in $158.33 under budget, yay! With this mood board and the customized shopping list I made for her, she‘s all set to turn her ideas into reality.
After a few alterations and adjustments, the mood board you see above was the final result. What do you think?
Happy Monday to you all.
Xx. Holly.

I like your moodboard with all the natural hues. Very calm and chic - as you can imagine, I would squeeze in some colours, too:-)
ReplyDeleteWow. Congratulations on the design job. That's great and what's also great is that you do design without boundaries. You get the brief, supply a mood board and shopping tips and basically anyone in the world can hire your services. Fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you also supply scaled drawings if requested!
Well, I know this was your clients brief but you can imagine it's a little monochrome for me and a bit too beige:) I think you chose beautiful items and I'm sure your client was very happy.
Also great that you came in under budget. Always makes clients smile:)
Nice post and nice to see your work xx
Thanks Igor, Thanks Tina!
ReplyDeleteYes, for my own taste, there is just way too much beige going on here, but I have to admit, I quite like it anyway. That's the fun part about doing work for others, it can take you out of your comfort zone a bit, which is a good thing.
For this project, I didn't supply any floor plans or 3D rendered images (that's my Level 2 service). Client only wanted Level 1 (mood board) and Level 3 (shopping list).
I'm happy to share my projects with you folks Xx.
