I originally prepared these posts for a different project, but it turns out they won't be being used for it. So instead of letting them go to waste, I thought to share them with you.
As some of you know, I have been spending a little time in Berlin lately. A little while ago I discovered a sweet handmade jewellery shop. So I went back with my camera to snap some shots. Ready for a little tour?
The shop is called Frau Dietel, which translates to Ms. Dietel in English. It is owned by the very lovely Daniela Dietel (of course!), a jewelry and product designer. As an interior consultant, the shop's interior design is what attracted me initially. I was walking home one evening and those massive, quirky, glowing chandeliers lured me right inside. I was happy to discover a stylish and inviting shop full of beautiful and carefully hand crafted jewelry.
I love the cufflinks, don't you? So I must add here that this shop is more than just a place to buy jewelry. At Frau Dietel, you can also take a wedding ring course, where you make your very own bands. How's that for a romantic twist? The workshops are a day long affair and given right there in the shop. Now I'm flirting with the idea of taking this course - even though I'm already married and have a ring! If I had known before, I would have definitely gone the handmade route. It just never crossed my mind. Wouldn't it be ultra special to be able to say proudly, "Yeah, we made our wedding rings ourselves". What do you think? Are you as smitten with this idea as I am?
See you tomorrow for another sweet shop tour!
Xx. Holly.
mmm, lots of love in this shop!

DeleteYeah you do great by posting this. :) Ideas are awesome and great. Its really fun and I personally got new ideas and designs to increase my business.
Thanks a lot . Please keep it up.
Oh dear, what a lovely discovery. It made it directly on my list with lots of wonderful shops, which I hope I'll find time to visit when I'm in Berlin next time.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, the chandeliers are quirky, but I think I love it. What are they made of?
Wish you a wonderful day and looking forward to tomorrow for the next 'hidden treasure'.

Hi Lysann! I think they are simply ripped fabric around some circular lamp shades of varying sizes .. but not completely sure ;)
DeleteHope you do get to visit it one day. I will have to return back to Rostock and the Baltic Sea one of these days to complete your lovely list ;)
Xx.
Thanks for your reply regarding the chandelier. Ripped fabric - gorgeous idea!
DeleteBtw. I will come over to Berlin this weekend. Are you still in Berlin then or already off to the Baltic Sea? Some warm and sunny spring weather will makes the middle of nowhere near Rostock even a bit nicer ;) Anyway, it seams a few very beautiful places are still waiting for you to visit them.... Enjoy it, my dear :)

Hi Holly...Love the tour. Great photos. One of my biggest vices is jewelry. I have a serious problem. So cool to see design in another country. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteOOh! I didn't know you were a jewelry fanatic :) Glad you enjoyed the post, makes me very happy. Thanks for your comment Xx.
Deletedear Holly!

ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! Wishing you a fabulous day too xoxoxoxxoxo
DeleteLove the colours in this shop!
ReplyDeleteNice, right!? In real life the red is even more powerful and the white is whiter! I was really drawn in there by some uncontrollable force, lol :)
DeleteHappy day Ursula!
I'm delighted this post and tomorrow's didn't go to its original destination. What a treat for us readers of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you were so attracted to this shop. It is beautiful, enticing, individual and seductive. Daniela's eye for detail, jewellery and product is superb.
I LOVE your photographs. You have such a good eye for angles and details. I wish you would spoil us more often.
I can see this being a series... when Holly visited... #justsayin!
The cufflinks are great and really innovative. I love the black chalkboard against the gold. Amazing. You could write little notes to a friend or loved one while in a 'library', for example...:)
I think going on a course to design/make your own wedding rings is genius.
And this is why I love Berlin!!!
Great Post. Look forward to tomorrow. xx
We were lucky enough to visit this jewel of a shop when staying nearby in lovely Friedenau. I bought a gorgeous pair of lavender coloured earrings and since arriving back in Australia have had them constantly admired. They are such a lovely reminder of our Berlin trip!Regards to you Daniela!
