Good Morning - Moodboard Monday

images via: clockwise, 1, 2, 3, 4.

I know it's Tuesday already, but I did prepare this mood board early yesterday morning when the sun was shining and the birds were chirping. Hints of yellow, lots of white, some wood and brick and let's not forget hot coffee - makes for a perfect morning mood.

I didn't have time to post it yesterday because we had to drive to Rostock - in the north of Germany near the Baltic Sea. My husband (P) is doing the last flying phase of his pilot training there and I decided to tag along. We drove about 6 hours to what feels like the middle of nowhere. There's a small airport nearby, where P will be spending most of his days. We're renting a little farmhouse with a green front door and nothing but fields all around. This 'city mouse' is truly out of her element here, but somehow I like it. It's quiet and the air is fresh and brisk. It's a nice change. I'm only staying a couple weeks though. Then I'm off to Berlin for another short while. P will join me there when he's done. Until then, here are what my surroundings look like:

Although I'm a little out of my comfort zone here, I'm feeling pretty relaxed. I just wish the sun we left behind in Frankfurt catches up with us here soon.

What are you up to this week? How's your mood these days?

Xx. Holly.

  1. Hi my dear,

your surrounding look incredibly charming in my eyes, I'd be so glad to be there!
I'm happy to hear that the little city mouse of you is feeling relaxed there :)

Have lots of fun & have no worries... there is no sun you left behind. After gracefully rising behind the woods this morning, he's hiding away again behind a shield of clouds...

And the when you need your happy note, you got the pretty & positively energizing mood board you created ;)

Needing a little Greek coffee today... too grey to proceed with new beginnings & work solutions... but I'm eager in every possible way.

    xoxo,

  2. Yes Iro, you would like it here. It's peaceful and open. Quite calming.

Glad to hear you are in good spirits! Enjoy your Greek coffee. I think it's time for another cup for me ;)

  3. Hi Holly,

it's a very lovely place where you're right now. Would love to be there, too. Actually I'm a bit jealous - it's far too long, that I was there the last time ;)
I did my interior design studies very close to Rostock, so I do know the place very propperly ... probabaly I should say I knew it, as it's just a while ago, that I spent some years there. But there are so many beautiful places waiting for you to be discovered ... of course it will be a quiet and calm time, but for sure a really lovely one.
Will send you an email with some tips, if you like :) I think lots has changed since I was there, but anyway ... Enjoy your time near the Baltic Sea. How long do you plan to stay there?

    xoxo

  4. Oh, I love where you're at right now. I imagine you would get a lot of quiet reflection accomplished in those surroundings, which is always good for the mind and soul. The farmhouse where you're staying looks beautiful. Hm, wondering what the interior looks like...;)
All is well in these parts. Just trying to go with the flow. Enjoy your time, H!

    1. Thanks Theresa! The interior is nothing to show off so I won't be posting any pictures of it. It's not horrible, it's clean and functional, but that's it. Well ... maybe the entrance is nice - sort of... We'll see. Maybe I'll put some up on Instagram and send you a note :)

P just asked me how long I think I'll last here after my first day in (almost total) solitude. Lol! So far, I'm ok - especially with all you guys in blog land ;)

Thanks for venturing over here today. Hope you're having a good day Xx.

  6. Wow, I had no idea where Rostock is and that you'll be away from civilisation.... but then Frankfurt.... ooopppsss, maybe I shouldn't go there:)

Oh, thank god for blogging and your online community. I can imagine that the change from city to the middle of nowhere will be a challenge, but hey, how great to get out of your comfort zone, right?

Anyway, I am always here for you! So what have you got planned? Are you going to write, draw, paint? Explore the neighbourhood? Make some friends? Cook, bake? Go on, try something new.

You could start a whole new category on your blog. Also remember how David Hockney sees the countryside?

Actually, while at peace you could try the detox you wanted to do and also come off your much needed caffeine. That would be fun, no?

I admire you for doing this. I am definitely an urban chick and would not cope that well.
    I miss you x

  7. Hi Tina!! This is pretty funny that I'm here in the middle of nowhere. But not so nowhere I guess, because a fellow interior design blogger did her studies close by, knows the area well and just sent me the nicest mail with tons of tips for nice things to see and do in the area! So I'll have to check some items off her list :)

Funny you mention trying something new, because today I bought all the ingredients I'll need to make some easy chocolate chip cookies. So not healthy, I know. But there's something charming about baking cookies and the smell is wonderful! Not like I've never baked cookies (duh!!!) but I don't do it often, especially since we haven't had an oven for the past year and a half ;)

As usual, thanks for leaving your nice thoughts here.

    Message you later Xx.

  8. Lovely surroundings!! Very different from the city! I'm like a switch--I want the city, then I turn around and can't wait for the country again. You'll have to let us know how it treats you. :)

  13. I also love the yellow chairs with the grey rug, but then my head knows that the bottom left picture is what fits my style. But that is the great thing about blogging. Collecting so many different things that you love :)
