Here's a little tour of a house I quite enjoy.
I love the grey, the white, the wood, the splashes of colour and striking art pieces - although the one in the bedroom is a bit too intense for me. Actually, so is the wall colour, but I like it in this context - it surprised me. The home has a clean, minimal feel but it's edgy and cozy at the same time, which is what attracts me most. The fireplace in the living room is gorgeous. I'm really liking the staircase in this space, even though usually I'd opt for something less bulky. The kitchen is really nice too - super sleek, but I would switch out the stools, maybe for some wooden ones, or at least with wooden features to break it up a bit. I could also really do without the skull in the entrance. And that purple shade is disturbing me. However, the bathroom is a dream. I love the idea of framing the freestanding tub with a large marble backsplash. The floors are glorious, even the rubber floor in the kitchen appeals to me (but not the carpet in the bedroom - not a fan of carpet in general).

Hello from Vancouver! I just came across your blog, and I'm so happy I did. I love it. You have a new fan.
ReplyDeleteHi There! Thanks for your visit, and from my home country to boot! Great :) Your blog and your photographs are amazing, you have a new follower too ;)
DeleteXx.
very urban! I love the blue wall in the bedroom!! My little sailor heart skips a beat:-)
ReplyDeleteI was pleasantly surprised by the blue wall! Usually, I might not choose something like that but in the future I might consider it ;)
DeleteThanks for stopping by here Igor Xx.
Ah, all the things that you mention were the same things that caught my eye. Little did I know you were going to sum up all the little changes you would make to the space at the end. ;) I like that some of the furniture is old/vintage which is a nice contrast/complement to the modern space and I also liked all the art.
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa! I agree about the contrasting old/vintage items - the kitchen needs a little more contrast. We see things similarly it seems, and share a common aesthetic taste. Fun!
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by here today Xx.
Very very nice but slightly too male for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do like is that it's less harsh and clinical like normal white/wood/steel places. It has heart and soul and for me that's achieved through the blue wall in the bedroom, the art and some of the texture around the place, like the marble splashback in the bathroom.
Nice find, Holly. X
Thanks Tina! Glad you liked it. It's so hard to tell what these places are really like in real life from images, but it's a fun game. I guess the purpose is inspiration and idea collecting. I'm surprised at myself that I actually like the blue wall in the bedroom!
DeleteBig hugs Xx.
Hello there lovely lady !
ReplyDeletethat's a pretty imposing space you are posting here today I must say. Let's see which features I'm really loving here:
- the stairs, while in total accordance with your thoughts about them
- what seems to be an awesome exterior space with simple floating stairs,
- the wooden floors + framed marmor in the bathroom &
- generally its clean lines & open space planning much like it is seen in the kithen picture.
I wouldn't say it overall wins me though.
Thank for posting & sharing your views on it. Hope this day has been a nice one!
Sending hugs + kisses :*) xoxo
Hi Iro! I'm so glad you noticed the exterior too, with its wonderful stairs!! So funny, because I only noticed them just a few hours ago and I was immediately upset that I didn't mention it. Now you did, and I'm so glad. Hopefully it will point some eyes in that direction :)
DeleteIt's ok that it doesn't win you overall, I don't think it wins me fully either - it's just nice to discuss interiors with like-minded people even if we have different tastes and feelings about spaces. And who knows, maybe it strikes a real chord with someone out there and gives them just the inspiration they were looking for ;) I don't know why I'm telling you all this, I know you know what I'm talking about. Surely we've discussed this all before, lol!
I appreciate that you took the time to come over and share your thoughts. Miss u! Xx.
Iii! Scary face in the bedroom! Otherwise nice, especially the fireplace!
ReplyDeleteHi Johanna! I know, the face is way too much! lol!
DeleteHope all is well Xx.
love the architecture! The bedroom is a bit jarring - not sure I would feel very relaxed in there...
ReplyDeleteI know, it's that massive art work. Pretty scary :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by here Anne-Marie

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like! Feels good to give back inspiration, your blog inspires me so often :)
DeleteThe Home Interiors looked a serious eye candy! Thanks for the share!@Lisa
ReplyDeleteThe pictures on the wall in the kitchen are really, how do I say this.... The kind that would give me bad dreams. I can't understand hanging them anywhere let alone such a visible place. They are too disturbing!
ReplyDeleteI know, the bedroom one too! But everyone has their own taste in art I guess, lol! It's not to say I don't think the art is good, actually I think it's really good. But for my taste, not really appropriate for a home setting.
DeleteThanks for your comment Deb!
Xx.
That's one gorgeous living space obviously owned by a guy. I don't know but I think I could tell it based on the color schemes and the type of furnitures and accents on the wall. Not to mention, there's a guy's pair of shoes. Lol.
ReplyDeletethanks for the nice blog. it was very useful for me. And i am glad to come here
ReplyDelete@ furniture stores orange county: Hi there, welcome! I agree the place as a masculine vibe - but maybe that's why I like it, even though I'm a girl ;) Everyone has different tastes ... but you are probably right, nice detective work with the shoes ;)
ReplyDelete@Shifna: Welcome!! So glad you find the blog useful. I'm flattered to here that. Hope to see you around here more often :) Thanks for your comment!!
