Modern/Contemporary 3D interior project

Remember, I shared a modern/contemporary moodboard yesterday? Well, here is the 3D interior project I was working on that goes with it.  I think it's pretty much complete, except for the brick wall texture ... I just can't seem to find the right one.  The brick here is way too big, but the colours are right so I kept it.  The project entailed the ground floor only.  It is an open concept space which required the kitchen, dining, living and working areas to co-exist.

I chose a neutral colour scheme - white, black, grey and went two ways with the browns - one more influenced by yellow, the other by red.  The result is a space that has balance when it comes to light and dark colours.  The white and light colours further enhance the already abundant amount of light in the space, allowing for the addition of some seriously rich colours and textures (the couches, the wood floor) to cozy up the place in an elegant way. There is a straight line theme to the interior by way of the furniture choices and rug patterns - although the chandelier of floating spheres at various heights (inspired by the ones at Bocci) was chosen as a fun contrast and is used to emphasize the height of the space, while simultaneously tying them together.  The chandelier plays a role and can be appreciated on either level.

So ... care to share some thoughts, comments?  You like? You don't? All are welcome ;)

If you need help with the concept of your space, I'm always happy to dish out some ideas - so do look at the eDesign services page to find out how it works.

See you next time,
