I don't know if it's the fact that Fall is upon us and wood makes me feel cozy, but I'm just really into it. And the closer it resembles its original form, the better. These pieces don't hide from where they come from, they remind us of it actually, and I think that's important to remember.

If you like the idea, but you're on a tight budget, consider these simple, but awesome DIY ideas.  Click on the links below the image to go to the original post for instructions.

  1. I've always loved wood. Growing up my parents had 2 rectangular chunks of wood stacked on top of each other as bedside tables. I still have 2 of them and they've gone from my bedside to Sammy's bedside in his "outdoor/explorer" themed bedroom... to the legs for my window bench. They're heavy, but fabulous! My mother also recently got another 2 to use as legs on her tv shelving unit. You could also easily make something yourself if you find the right piece of wood. Love.

  2. Lovely autumn mood indeed. Just perfect to keep me from proceeding with packing boxes ;

    I've always loved wood, too. Especially in its raw from.
    Blue nature's creations are my favorite among the ones posted here, while I also love the white ones.

    I'd love to share my own diy project, as in my last apartment in Greece I had put on wheels a piece, resembling much the one in the picture with the kitty, while making a top of a cork.

    Lot of searching through files is required, which though at the moment cannot take place.
    In addition, the pictures are anything close to acceptable but any ways, promise to do so and share one day ;)

  3. Coco: wooden slabs or stumps are so versatile. And it's just wonderful that you can get beautiful designer ones if you want or make them yourself as the concept is quite simple. It brings so much natural warmth o a space.

    Iro: I need to see your diy project eventually! Sounds awesome ;)

    Thanks for the comments ladies Xx.
