Contemplation - Moodboard Monday

Lately I feel like I need to slow down and contemplate. So when I stumbled across the top image, I felt very drawn to it, as it seemed to describe my mood. I find the lady standing there in her peachy, orange dress among all the grey, sort of hopeful and still. And that's how I feel, quietly and peacefully hopeful. Just thinking about things. With vastness all around.

So naturally, the next step was to go with this mood and translate it to an interior space. You like?

How is your mood these days?

Xx. Holly.

    1. I totally agree! Nature is beautiful. That's why I think wood in interiors is essential, as I'm sure you would agree :) Xx.

Great interpretation of the photograph. Lately, my mood is nostalgic as my time of 4 years in Korea draws to a close. This contemplative mood board really resonates with me too.

    1. Glad you can appreciate on a personal level :) That's the point with these Moodboard Mondays, although I think this is truly the first time I've been able to really express my mood properly with one of them. So I'm really glad for your lovely comment. Xx.

  4. Contemplation and reflection is always good, right? It brings us back to who we are and want to be in this world. With all this rushing around (look who's talking:) we need to pause!

My first thought was that the top picture fits in beautifully with the colours of your blog layout.

I Love the steel sliding doors against the table with wooden top and that chair is glorious.

You've inspired me to take some time out and go for a long walk in the park, to contemplate and reflect. Thank you for that xx

    1. And thanks for your inspiring comment Tina. Wise words you write :) In the spirit of inspiring each other, I think you've inspired me with your 'walk talk' into strolling down to the Main tomorrow to feed the ducks :) Xx.

  5. I really love that top photo. I'm watching my mood very closely these days, making sure I don't let it get too far away from me. Contemplation and reflection is very good, as is lots of rest. I love the gray, peach, and wood together. And, that chair is from heaven.

    1. The chair IS amazing :) It's called DC09 by Inoda+Sveje Design Studio. I'm totally in love with it.

I'm the same about my mood, always checking in. I think it's important to do so. That's what these Moodboard Mondays are turning into for me. It's good :)

Thanks for your comment, Theresa :)

      Xx.

  6. Great mood board Holly. Lovely interpretation. Contemplation is a nice space to be in. My mood these past few days has been a little off. Not liking it much :-( Heading home next week for a few days so hope that helps perk me up.

BTW where do you create your mood boards?

    1. Thanks Gerard! I hope that your trip home does rejuvenate you somehow. I find that when I am in an 'off mood', the key to getting rid of it, is to stop fighting it. I tend to want to fix things, so acceptance is a bit challenging for me at times, but I've come to realize that it's what really works for me. Once I've accepted it, it usually passes soon after. Also, telling myself that it's ok and normal to have an 'off mood' from time to time calms me down and makes the whole acceptance part easier...

I was making my mood boards in Olioboard, but recently, I quit that. It just doesn't allow the complete freedom of expression that I need. So I resorted back to Photoshop (which is what I was using during my studies to make mood boards). It's a lot more work, but the result is much better I think. I realize I was just being lazy with Olioboard. But I have seen some people make really nice mood boards with it. It's just not for me.

      Xx.
